2014 Domaine Michel et Stéphane Ogier Condrieu Vieilles Vignes de Jacques Vernay (White) (750ml)

95 points Wine Spectator Outer quote mark Beautifully focused, with a ripe core of apricot, peach and quince notes backed by light verbena and green almond accents. Exotic but not overly flamboyant, with fresh acidity driving the finish. Drink now through 2019. (JM) Inner quote mark (11/2016) 93 points James Suckling Outer quote mark Sourced from a parcel of Viognier growing on granitic soils, this has a fragrant and fresh edge with barely ripe white nectarines, yellow plums and white apricots. Quite captivating. The palate has an almost saline appeal to it and is quite crunchy and crisp. A succulent stance holds the finish well. It's focused and pure. Drink now and for 5+ years. Inner quote mark (10/2016) 93 points Vinous Outer quote mark Light gold. Intense orchard and pit fruit scents on the highly perfumed, mineral-accented nose, and a floral note that gains power as the wine opens up. Round and fleshy yet vibrant; slow-building spiciness adds cut to sappy pear, white peach and orange flavors. The floral quality comes back strongly on a long, penetrating finish, which leaves behind notes of honeysuckle and lemon curd. The blend of power and elegance is pretty impressive.
